TECHNE is an annual exhibition presented by Onassis ONX that explores how artists are expanding the languages of performance, storytelling, and collective experience through advanced technologies. It centers works that ask audiences to experience technology not at a distance, but as something spatial, social, and felt.

Bringing together immersive, interactive, narrative, and performance-driven works, TECHNE makes room for creative forms that do not fit neatly within any single discipline, especially through installations, participatory systems, virtual and augmented environments, and other modalities of engagement. The exhibition especially considers how technology can become a collaborator, a stage, a system, or an environment through which new forms of artistic encounter can emerge.

Across its evolving formats, TECHNE remains focused on works that connect technological experimentation with the qualities that make performance immediate and embodied. At its center is a simple proposition that technologies are most compelling when they become integral to the artistic logic of the work rather than an end in themselves.

For its 2027 edition, TECHNE returns to Onassis ONX New York with a new group of artists and projects that extend these questions in different directions. The exhibition continues to test how technology can alter the conditions of artistic experience and open new possibilities for what performance can mean, where it can happen, and how we might encounter it together.
